IN LESS THAN 50 WORDS:
This was a classic smooth ride to the mighty twin falls. Every event had a slot & each of them more or less fell into them, hence the term “classic”. It’s these kind of trips which make you feel good and makes you realize the amount of time you have spent on the road.

INTRO & PLAN:
Alright, it was only 2 days since our visit to Lokaruchi for breakfast. We knew it would be a hard November, as we had lot of catching up to do. So, to start things of Arun had come to town to visit Bangalore for 2-3 days. So we planned a ride wherein we had enough time to catch up with nature and ourselves.
TIME: 22:00 (4/11/2014)

ASSEMBLE & LEAVE:
Yeah I was up at 05:00, did a few push ups & situps, had a cup of coffee and was all set to go. Arun arrived at my place at about 06:30, after catching up on the basics we decided to head out of town without any further delays.
TIME: 07:00

RIDE 1: (Bangalore – Bidadi – Channpatna – Kabblu – Malvalli - Gaganchukki)
Okay, this was a very interesting ride which stretched out for about 120kms. I say it was “interesting” because we had to ride both on highways & country roads. And also we rode in the morning sun and amidst a thick curtain of fog which came upon us latter during the ride.
As we left Bangalore, we rode at a decent pace of 60-70km/h one behind the other. After about 30mins of riding in the morning sun we reached Bidadi. We looked at each other and pulled over for some yummy breakfast.
TIME: 07:30

After having breakfast, we sipped on some tea. As we left Bidadi, the weather turned around. The temperatures dropped and so did the visibility. A thick fog had descended over the road and reduced the visibility to a few meters. We reduced our riding speeds and stayed one behind the other. Riding in the fog was something we had not done for long and we began to enjoy it. Enjoying the ride a little too much we almost missed the left turn at Channpatna.

After the deviation at Channpatna, the country roads bought in some greenery into our ride. And the fog, well it got denser. We stopped a couple of places to take in the beauty but we decided to have a long pit stop near Kabblu. As we reached Kabblu, well I knew there had to be a mountain right in front of us, but it was not to be seen. As a few rays of the sun shone and clouds moved away, we could see the top of the mountain. It was a breath taking moment of the trip. We just gasped and kept looking at the mountain as few kids ran bar footed into the fields around. We decided to wait until it became bright. Took out some munchies out of my bag and we hanged out catching up on each other’s life.
TIME:09:30

As the fog cleared, we decided it was time to hit back. We rode until we reached Kanakpura road. By this time, the fog had died and we rode at faster pace to reach the T-junction of Malavalli. After a refreshing tea at the T-junction we continued further to reach the 1st of the mighty falls – Gaganchukki.
TIME:11:15

GAGANCHUKKI:

This is the first of the two waterfalls and falls under Mandya district. When water are on the higher side this waterfalls is a bliss to watch. The waters were decent and crowd was very less. Se we had the entire place to ourselves and enjoyed the tranquil beauty. It’s actually hypnotizing to just hear the water fall from such heights. After having spent about 1 to 1.5hrs at the place we decided to was time to visit the second waterfall.
TIME:12:30

BARACHUKKI:

This falls is about 15-20kms from the first one and falls under Chamrajnagara district. As we rode towards the  2nd falls we spotted the old stone bridge running parallel to the new one on which we rode. As we arrived at Barachukki, we found out that visitors weren’t allowed under the falls due to the recent mishaps that had occurred a few weeks back. We parked our bikes, bought some stuff to eat and headed down the stairs towards the base of the waterfalls.
As we reached the base, we sat near the streams of water, which by the way was very cool and relaxed. After resting for about an hour we decided to hit back as we were hungry.
TIME: 14:00

RIDE 2: (Barachukki – Malavalli - Maddur - Bangalore)
This was about 150kms ride back. It had turned hot as the sun was right on top of heads draining our energies away. We decided we head to Maddur for lunch. We rode non stop until Malavalli, post Mallavalli the roads turned patchy. We slowed down but didn’t stop until we reached Maddur. We pulled over at Maddur Tiffany’s for some lunch.
TIME:15:15

After the lunch we had some coffee so that we don’t doze off on the road. After fooling around a little we departed. The ride from Maddur to Bangalore was a smooth one. As we began to enter Bangalore the weather turned pleasant and the traffic unpleasant. We reached Bangalore and split our ways to our respective homes.
TIME: 18:00

Until next time cia \m/
